GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY OF THE STATGE 2 CENTRAL WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT TOOK PLACE

Targets for supervision & evaluation of green & clean industrial park for sustainable development, the building of the Central Waste Water Treatment Plant is one of the top mission of PITP. Ground breaking ceremony took place on 12 February 2020, which will be implemented by Duong Nhat Company with the presence of Binh Duong Industrial Zone Authorities, PITP leaders and partners. The new plant has capacity of cleaning 2,500 meter cube water per day. The work will be finished by September 2020. PITP's target is to ensure our tenant's expanding project and the effectiveness of environment protection.

Vietnam's top 500 largest enterprises in 2019 announced

The Vietnam Report JSC and VietNamNet newspaper announced the top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam (VNR500) in 2019 at a ceremony in Hanoi on January 9.

The event aims to honour the largest enterprises in Vietnam, which achieved remarkable successes in production and business activities.

On the list are Samsung Electronics Thai Nguyen Co Ltd, Vietnam Electricity (EVN), Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group (Viettel), and Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex).

Major firms such as Vingroup, Binh Son Refining and Petrochemical JSC, Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Agribank), Joint Stock Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), and Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (Vinacomin) are also included in the list.

Director General of Vietnam Report Vu Dang Vinh said this is the 13th consecutive year the VNR500 Ranking has been published to help build and promote the prestige and trade brands of local businesses.

It also aims to support firms in attracting financial resources and accessing to new business opportunities by increasing trust of partners and investors, as well as enhance their competitiveness and sustainable development, especially in the context of Vietnam’s deeper integration into the region and the world’s economy, he added

Binh Duong province is studying a project to build a railway route that would extend from the province to Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai and Ba Ria-Vung Tau provinces to transport goods in the southern key economic region.

Binh Duong plays host to 2019 Horasis Asia Meeting

As host of the 2019 Horasis Asia Meeting, the southern province of Binh Duong is seeking to elevate its image to international friends whilst taking advantage of the platform to gain additional investment from businesses, said Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue at the forum’s opening ceremony.

According to Bui Minh Tri, director of Binh Duong Industrial Zones Management Board, Taiwanese industrial papermaker Cheng Loong Corp. will pour another $610 million into Cheng Loong Binh Duong Paper Co., Ltd. in Singapore Ascendas-Protrade Tech Park, making it the largest Taiwanese project in the locality so far.

Deputy PM Hue noted that this year's event is poised to play a key role in the “Binh Duong Smart City 2019" series which has recently been taking place in the city.

Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of Binh Duong province People's Committee, said that the 2019 Horasis Asia Meeting serves as an important international event that brings together over 1,000 delegates, including top leaders from over 60 countries worldwide.

Smart success in store for Binh Duong
The Binh Duong People’s Committee has classified a special area as “Binh Duong Smart Area”, covering a southern part of the province which will encompass urban, education and researching, and key industry areas. Following the model of the Dutch city of Eindhoven, in 2016 Binh Duong announced its plan to develop Binh Duong Smart City.

According to Tran Thanh Liem, Chairman of Binh Duong People’s Committee, it is different from other provinces where smart cities were defined as using advanced technologies to solve divisive issues such as transport, public facilities management, or e-government.

Binh Duong People’s Committee Chairman Liem stressed that the future WTC will be developed as more than a simple building. Instead, it will be a multi-functional complex which can provide all services and international trade activities for the whole region.

Import licences to be granted online from November 1

Companies will be able to apply for import licences online from November 1 this year, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT)’s Foreign Trade Agency.

The agency has announced that it will start providing import and export-related public services at Level 3 on the MoIT’s online portal – online.moit.gov.vn on November 1.

The move is part of its efforts to streamline administrative procedures and facilitate foreign trade.

The online services are applicable for the issuance and re-issuance of and amendments to auto import licences; and the issuance, re-issuance and extension of, and amendments to certificates of entitlement of import-export rights to foreign traders without a presence in Vietnam.

The agency also said it will stop accepting hard-copy applications the same day.
